On-Going Maintenance: We assumed responsibility for maintaining the 28,000+ county and FDOT streetlights on February 1, 2024, working closely with Miami Dade's DTPW leadership team, our team has introduced a data and technology driven management approach, that has allowed us to increase network efficiency and response times.
LED Light Swaps: In December of 2023, we commenced the swap out phase, replacing existing High Pressure Sodium (HPS) streetlights with super efficient LED fixtures and intelligent controllers reducing energy consumption by more than 50%. We are also brining a data asset management tool which said platform will allow us to implement predictive analytics and preventative maintenance practices which will reduce streetlight down time. The sensors embedded in the controllers will also afford us the ability to monitor environmental, safety, mobility and other important applications.
Say goodbye to slow internet speeds and hello to our ultra-fast fiber and fixed wireless internet solutions. With speeds up to 400 Gig, our network will have the fastest speeds in N. America and equally important, we will be reducing / eliminating the digital divide as our phase 1 deployment will cover 66% of every home and business, with the subsequent phases getting us to 100% coverage, a first in the USA for a major municipality.
Beyond fiber and fixed wireless, we will also be deploying a comprehensive 5G / CBRE solution as well as WiFi-6 that will enable a resilient network reducing coverage gaps and critical infrastructure remaining in operation even during times of major disasters.
Economic Development, already strong, will become even stronger given our ultra-fast and superior coverage will entice technology companies that want to relocate to Miami Dade and/or embrace robotic manufacturing, autonomous vehicle and other innovations.
The intelligent controllers, in combination with 500+ Ultra-High Definition (UHD) cameras, 900+ IOT Sensors and other innovative applications will allow us to provide new tools and data that will directly support improved traffic / mobility, reduce congestion and assist in the overall maintenance of these corridors.
As vehicles become more and more intelligent and require and produce data that can help improve traffic performance and support growing autonomy of vehicles, trucks and other mobile assets. Another key outcome of our Smart Mobility solution is a Net Zero approach as our network will allow us to connect the data which will include, but not be limited to cars, trucks, busses, bicyclist, scooters, pedestrian and autonomous vehicles.
The net outcome is an overall smart and connected mobility system that will serve to improve the quality of life for citizens, businesses and visitors, impacting economic development across the county.
Say goodbye to range anxiety with our comprehensive EV charging infrastructure as we will be providing over 1,800 EV chargers.
Our network, of fast and reliable charging stations are strategically placed across Miami-Dade County, ensuring that electric vehicle owners can easily find and use a charging station whenever needed. By promoting the use of electric vehicles and providing robust support for EV drivers, we are paving the way for a cleaner, greener future. Our initiative not only supports environmental sustainability but also boosts confidence among residents and visitors in adopting electric vehicles.
Improving the health and wellness of our community is a key factor as you cannot have a smart county without having a healthy community.
Leveraging our state of the art network and connectivity that will be enable everyone and every thing to be connected, in collaboration with our smart wellness partner, "Stay Healthy Zone", we will be delivering focused wellness programmatic solutions that will serve, especially in the underserved communities, to reduce key health issues including diabetes, hypertension and other ailments, improving our community and quality of life for all.
The smart and connected solution that will be enabled county-wide, will also provide an important improvement to resiliency, sustainability as well as utilizing IOT sensors that will support efforts regarding climate warming, environmental impact and remedies that help to offset reliance on traditional grid power, beyond the EV chargers, this initiative will also improve efficiency in buildings, fleet, solar, kinetic and other alternative energy solutions, collectively providing additional smart tools that the county can use to both counter climate changes as well as receive infrastructure impact data quicker than currently available, enabling predictive analytics and proactive solutions.
